MODEL TROUBLESHOOTING

Start with the symptom, then follow the checks

Confirm the XP-420B hardware interface and the paper/sensor type in your printer.

Before starting: Turn off the printer before clearing jams. The printhead may be hot; keep tools away from the heating elements.

If each successive shipping label lands lower, first correct label size and calibrate the gap/black-mark sensor.

A flashing red indicator is not a unique error code. Distinguish steady red from flashing red, then read the actual printer status.

Remove the physical jam before recalibration; do not pull hard against a closed printhead.

Use the printer’s own self-test to separate a hardware issue from the computer, driver, or shipping software.
