Safety first: Treat the heating plate as hot long after switch-off. Unplug before moving or cleaning the press; do not defeat its interlocks or open mains-voltage and heater compartments. Keep fabric, cables and skin out of the moving platen.

Jump to your symptom: 01 · The display lights up, but the platen stays at room temperature after you press R02 · The target temperature does not appear to be accepted03 · The setting is accepted, but the actual temperature still does not increase04 · Correct settings and suitable supply still leave the platen cold, or E1/E2 keeps returning
01
The display lights up, but the platen stays at room temperature after you press R
HOW TO CHECK & CORRECT THIS CAUSE
- Clear all garments, vinyl, paper and tools from the platen before testing.
- Switch the first-generation press on with Power. Select a supported preset with Mode, or press Temp and use + / − to choose a temperature above the current room temperature.
- Allow the unit to enter and complete its preheat stage. Do not repeatedly press R: that is for starting the pressing cycle, not for turning the heater on.
- Watch whether the actual-temperature indication increases toward the selected target. Distinguish the target setting from the measured value.
How to tell it is fixed: Preheating starts and the measured temperature steadily rises to the selected target; the unit reaches its ready condition.
02
The target temperature does not appear to be accepted
HOW TO CHECK & CORRECT THIS CAUSE
- Return to the temperature or preset selection using Temp or Mode.
- Choose one valid preset or custom temperature, then verify the displayed target has changed and remains selected after returning to the operating display.
- Wait through the normal preheating stage with the platen empty. Do not test heating by touching the hot metal.
How to tell it is fixed: The setting is retained and the actual-temperature reading rises normally.
03
The setting is accepted, but the actual temperature still does not increase
HOW TO CHECK & CORRECT THIS CAUSE
- Power down, disconnect the plug and allow the unit to cool completely.
- Inspect the external cord and plug for discoloration, overheating or damage. Do not reuse a damaged cable or loose/burned receptacle.
- Do not use an undersized extension lead or shared power strip. Reconnect only to an appropriately rated, grounded wall receptacle verified for this appliance.
- Run one supervised preheat with no fabric or transfer material and observe the actual temperature rather than the target setting.
How to tell it is fixed: Temperature now rises and stabilizes; if so, the external power arrangement was the likely problem.
04
Correct settings and suitable supply still leave the platen cold, or E1/E2 keeps returning
HOW TO CHECK & CORRECT THIS CAUSE
- Switch the machine off and stop repeated heating attempts. Record the exact error display and whether it appears at startup or while temperature should be rising.
- Arrange qualified inspection of the heater, temperature-sensor circuit, wiring and power-control stage against the exact first-generation service information.
- Do not open the mains/heater enclosure, bridge a thermal cutoff, fit an unverified sensor or energize an exposed heating assembly. The available public operator material does not provide validated owner replacement steps or test values.
How to tell it is fixed: After qualified repair, an empty monitored cycle reaches and holds the selected temperature without E1/E2.
