Safety first: Use the E-stop, unplug spindle/machine power before touching tools, switches or couplers, and keep hands out of axis travel. Never bypass a hard-limit switch to run a cutting job; do not loosen a powered spindle or jog an axis into its physical end.
Model and version covered
Genmitsu 3018-PROVer V2 with GRBL-compatible controller. Check board marking and firmware before applying GRBL commands; the older 3018-PROVer and V2 Lite do not necessarily have identical connectors.
Version check: Confirm controller, GRBL firmware and actual limit/probe connections before changing parameters or running automated motion.

01
Candle disconnects when spindle starts
HOW TO CHECK & CORRECT THIS CAUSE
- Separate USB lead from motor/spindle power wiring, use sound grounded power supply and shorten/direct USB run.
- Verify spindle cable shielding/connections per V2 wiring guide.
How to tell it is fixed: Same air-cut toolpath runs without COM reset.
02
Job stops at a consistent point
HOW TO CHECK & CORRECT THIS CAUSE
- Inspect file for travel beyond actual machine limits and incorrect zero/units, regenerate toolpath within work envelope and ensure clamps cannot strike carriage.
How to tell it is fixed: Job passes former stop location on dry-run.
03
Controller resets even with spindle off and no tool contact
HOW TO CHECK & CORRECT THIS CAUSE
- Replace unstable specified 24V supply or service failing V2 mainboard after checking connectors.
- Do not disable alarms.
How to tell it is fixed: Repeat dry run and cutting cycle finish without controller reboot.
