Use only Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 (RLD32GD) and its matching auto-empty base (RCDD0202). Original D10 Plus/D10s Plus instructions or app features may differ by version.
Find the cause and fix it
A clicking or grinding noise began after hair or string was collected
- Stop cleaning and switch off the robot. Place it upside down on a soft stable surface.
- Release the main-brush cover, remove the roller and check bristles, both roller ends and the brush-housing slot.
- Cut away wrapped hair with the supplied cleaning tool without slicing the bristles; remove sand, paper scraps and debris lodged by either end cap.
- Check that the roller end caps and brush-cover clips are seated and not cracked. Reinstall the roller in its correct orientation and lock the brush cover.
- Run a short cleaning pass on a clear section of floor and listen for the original periodic clicking.
The noise occurs while turning or cleaning beside a wall
- Power down. Inspect the side brush and the space around its hub for thread, hair or plastic strips.
- Remove accessible debris and check whether the brush is bent, loose or continuously rubbing the chassis.
- Reinstall or replace a damaged side brush with a part verified for D10 Plus Gen 2, then clean briefly along a wall.
The knock repeats with wheel movement, even at a low vacuum-power setting
- Turn the robot off and inspect both drive wheels and the gaps between each wheel and the underside.
- Remove accessible hair, thread and grit. Compare left and right wheel travel without forcing the suspension or prying open the wheel modules.
- Test a short straight drive followed by turns on a clean, level floor; note whether the noise tracks movement rather than suction power.
The abnormal whine becomes stronger as the vacuum-power setting increases
- Stop and remove the dustbin; empty it and remove paper or lint obstructing its inlet.
- Check the reachable suction opening and filter. Clean the filter using the manufacturer-approved method and ensure it is completely dry before refitting.
- Reinstall the bin and filter securely. Run a brief cleaning test on low suction, then a higher setting, comparing the sound.
- If a sharp metallic whine or burning smell remains after the air path is clear, shut down for matched blower/fan diagnosis rather than repeatedly testing a suspected seized motor.
The loud noise happens only while the base station empties the robot
- Identify that the sound occurs during the short auto-empty cycle rather than ordinary floor cleaning.
- Disconnect the station from power. Inspect the dust bag for fullness and fit, and remove accessible obstructions in the station suction passage.
- Fit a compatible replacement dust bag if full or blocked. Reconnect the station and run one normal auto-empty cycle.

The fault definitions, named controls and any published specifications follow the linked documentation. Ordered isolation tests are conservative explanatory procedures, not a claim that all checks are verbatim factory service instructions. If the stated manual does not establish a measurement or part compatibility, this guide deliberately does not invent it.
